Community Outreach Projects

Angel Tree
We partner with the Eighth Judicial District to help families provide Christmas gifts to the children of incarcerated parents who are not in the foster care system but remain with family members. Please speak with Pam Gerding if you would like to help organize this churchwide project.

Hand in Hand
We partner with Contentnea-Savannah School, a K-Grade 8 Lenoir County School by collecting school supplies, including bookbags. These items are collected for several weeks prior to the beginning of the school year, blessed during a worship service, and delivered to the school just before the students arrive. Please speak with Pam Gerding or Wanda Scarborough if you are interested in assisting with this churchwide project.

Homeless Shelter
We partner with the Homeless Shelter to provide meals for individuals staying at the shelter the first Friday of the month. Please speak with Russell Brown if you are interested in helping with this project.

House of Hope
We provide seasonal outdoor plants and decorations for a beautiful transition house for women who are a part of the Family Accountability and Recovery Project. Please speak with Pam Gerding if you are interested in helping with this project.

Safe House of Lenoir County
We provide hygiene and other requested items for domestic abuse victims residing in the Safe House. These items are picked up by a representative from the Safe House.

Camp Caroline
We provide monetary donations to Camp Caroline and assist with requests for manpower for cleanup and maintenance. Camp Caroline welcomes volunteers on Thursday mornings. You may contact Camp Manager, Leslie Hanning at 252-249-0848 or campmanager@ncdisciples.org to let her know that you plan to go for a camp workday. Several church members volunteer as camp counselors each year. Church members also volunteer to write letters to Camp Rainbow campers each summer.
